Geodes

Geodes was designed by Quiltworx in 2022 as an addition to our collection of patterns from the Fireworks Block Mixer Series. Foundation paper piecing, floating points, and Template Layout Sheets are all featured in these instructions. These are design standards our customers have come to expect from Quiltworx patterns. After the paper piecing is completed, traditional curved piecing is required to assemble the blocks. This quilt is fun to make and easily adapted to using strips and background fabric from your own stash if you like.

Expanding your Geodes quilt can be accomplished by not completing the final assembly steps, and instead using Templates XR-1, XR-2, XL-1, and XL-2 included in the pattern to create a border that will bring the center to 68″ square. From there, you can expand your quilt to a 99″ with compatible 242-D border packages available by clicking the Buy Now button.

If you want to experiment and mix and match the pieces included here with those from other designs, Quiltster is the perfect tool for you to make a quilt completely your own. Likewise, you can use many of the groups in this pattern to make other layouts as well. Explore each of these layouts to learn new ways to incorporate these blocks into future projects as well!
