Autumn Splendor 2023

Autumn Splendor was originally published in 2006 and has been off the market as a Quiltworx pattern for nearly 10 years now. We routinely get requests to bring it back, and have decided it is time to run another limited release of this design. However, we have made some updates to the pattern layout (we decreased the number of overlapping circles and have now included square up templates and options for adding expansion borders). The pattern is a relatively straightforward design, a good introductory pattern, and includes many of Judy’s trusted techniques including floating points, speed stacking and cutting, traditional curved piecing.

This pattern is created as a Collectors Club Design which means there are only 500 available for purchase. So, get yours while supplies last! It is rewarding to re-release this design to meet our current design standards and also to feature fabrics designed by Judy and Judel Niemeyer. We hope you enjoy the updated pattern!

There are many ways to expand your Quiltworx designs into larger sizes with compatible border packages by clicking the Buy Now button. If listed, you should purchase the Introduction Booklet for the size quilt you want. Then, you should select expansion borders of your choice. The following information explains ways to expand your quilt.

You can make more blocks! Please note two things, first that we do not have yardage figured out for this option. Second, there are no Replacement Papers for this Collectors Club Design, so you would need to order two patterns for this option. Details are in the pattern.
To expand the 57″ to a 68″ Wall Quilt, add a 242C border of your choice listed under the Buy Now button.
To expand the 68″ to 80″ Wall Quilt, add a 281D border of your choice listed under the Buy Now button.
To expand the 80″ to 118″, add a 277H border of your choice listed under the Buy Now button.
To expand the 68″ to a 99″ Queen, purchase one of the 242D borders listed under the Buy Now button.
Finally, you can also swap out or add any of our 10″ blocks listed under the Buy Now button, for a totally different look to your quilt. This option is not available in Quiltster to explore.

BONUS! Autumn Splendor uses the same blocks and techniques as our Seasonal Table Runner pattern, and the Seasonal Table Runner quilt was included in our 2024 Quiltworx Quilt Box program as the first small project. In conjunction with that, Judy recorded a demonstration taking you step by step through how to make the table runner. You can apply these same tips and techniques to make your Autumn Splendor quilt, and it will come together in a snap!

This pattern is available in Quiltster! This means you can color the quilt with your favorite fabric collections in Quiltster before you make it. Quiltster will even provide you with yardage! You can also purchase kits designed by Quiltster Sellers right in the application!
