The Sabertooth Stars is one of the many variations designed using the foundation paper units from the Mariner’s Star. Sheryl Mycroft designed the layout for this quilt using the border and corner papers from the Mariner’s Star. The African prints by “Hoffman Fabrics” used for the sample shown on the cover of this pattern, along with the sharp teeth-like appearance that, formed by the spiky border, provided the inspiration for the name of this pattern. This pattern is considered to be one of my easiest patterns. It requires no curved piecing, no measuring, and can easily be expanded simply by increasing the width of the lattice strips.
