Which Ways North Class Supplies: This is a one-day class designed to teach you the simplicity of foundation paper piecing and simple stack and slice techniques to speed up your cutting time. You will need to purchase a copy of any of the patterns listed above for this class. The patterns include the yardage instructions, template making instructions, and the foundation papers. Read your pattern prior to class.

Cutting Instructions: Make your templates, and bring your fabrics in the form of fat-quarters, fat- sixth, 1/3-yard cuts or 6″ strips. Any combination of fabrics will work. The more variety of colors the more you will like the quilt. You will need and equal amount of light, medium, and dark fabrics to work with.

Which Ways North:

Finished Size Block: 6″

Unfinished size Block: 6 1/2″

Quilt Size: 48″ by 60″

To make the 48″ by 60″ quilt you will need 48 center blocks, 28 border blocks and 4 corner stone blocks.

Layout: 8 horizontal rows by 6 vertically rows

Quilt Size: 36″ by 42″

To make the 36″ by 42″ quilt you will need 20 center blocks and 18 border blocks.

Layout: 6 horizontal rows by 7 vertical rows

Yardage For 6″ Strips: Yardage is figured the same for each size by using the following formula. One 6″ strip yields enough fabric to make two 6″ squares. To figure yardage you must first decide how big you want to make your quilt and how many blocks you will need. Divide the number of blocks you need by two. This is the total number of strips needed to make this quilt. Divide the fabrics in to light, medium, and dark fabrics.

Yardage For Fat-Quarters: One fat quarter is enough
