Diana Simkins and her sister, Rene` Simkins, will be the featured quilters at the biennial quilt show this year. The sisters live next door to each other near Fort Shaw, Montana where they spend a large portion of their time quilting and with Rene`s horses.
Both sisters have received honors for their quilts in local shows. Rene` quilts most of Diana’s quilts and likes to make scrappy quilts. Diana is a certified Judy Niemeyer instructor but likes to do all sorts of quilts and design her own. It is usually easy to distinguish which one pieced a quilt because their color selections are so different.
Diana created the paper piecing pattern for this year’s raffle quilt and Rene` quilted it.
