Tucked into the heart of the Panhandle of Nebraska, 7 miles SouthWest of Hemingford, you will find any

quilters dream store,  Pat’s Creative.   Pat’s Creative originated in 1975 with just a drawer full of DMC

machine embroidery thread.  Through years and growth of the family, owner Pat Buskirk along with her 2

daughter in-laws, grew the business to be a garment sewers delight, with lots of fashion fabrics and

Bernina & Janome sewing machines.  Free bi-monthly workshops, sewing and machine classes, seminars

and great customers helped Pats Creative to grow and expand.  The quilting revolution in the mid 90’s was

a turning point for the business . Quilting fabrics and classes were then introduced to our customers.  This

new generation in sewing has taken our business into where it is today.

Pats Creative has always been family owned and operated.  It is currently owned by Sonya Buskirk and

daughter Shelley McConville.   Their store is located on their family farm 3 west, 3 south, 1/2 west, and 1/2

south of Hemingford in a Morton steel building.  Sonya’s husband Dean is our sewing machine technician.

We are proud to offer area to the area a complete line of Bernina, Janome, & HandiQuilter sewing/embroidery/

quilting machines, with lessons and full service.  On any given day you may step into our shop and be

helped by any of our 4 generations-Pat, Sonya, Shelley, or Shaylynn.

Customers come from miles around, as we are known for our inventory of over 5000 bolts of quilting

cottons. We have a vast array of both traditional and modern fabrics – over 500 batiks, florals, orientals,

Fairy Frosts & metallics, Kansas Troubles, kids prints, wildlife, ‘guy’ prints, novelties, Stonehenge,

seasonals and Christmas year round.  We also have over 500 flannels in kids and adult prints, fleeces,

minkies, & denims.  We are always on the lookout for new & unusual fabrics, cancer groups, religious

prints, sewing fabrics, and don’t forget Maxine!

Along with the fabrics, we host a full line of books, patterns, and sewing notions, always wanting to

show you the newest and the best tools, as well as the easiest techniques.   We carry the full line of Judy

Niemeyer paper piecing patterns and are proud to be a Judy Niemeyer certified shop, being able to offer

you her certified shop ‘only’ patterns:  The Glacier Star and The Mariners Compass.  Interested in learning
