Carnival flower wall size (80″ x 80″) and queen size (99″ x 99″) are the newest patterns in the Quiltworx “technique of the month” program. This class will be offered in 6 parts so that you will have plenty of time to focus on one new technique at a time as we work through the detailed pattern. Quiltworx certainly stands out from the rest – with their printed template layout sheets, foundation papers that include important special markings, smart corners and transition registration points – all included to aid with the piecing and assembling of this detailed quilt; reducing much of the confusion and providing an enjoyable experience for everyone, including confident beginner quilters!
Classes include a few seats in my southern NH studio, as well as up to 10 seats via ZOOM. That way everyone gets the personal attention they need and a great close-up view of my “Quilting Hands” as I demonstrate each technique. All techniques for class are filmed, edited and made available to you within 24 hours after completing a class – so you will have tutorials to reference as you finish each section of your quilt at your own pace. There will be 3 – 4 weeks in between each class, giving you plenty of time to finish what we worked on during class.
It’s best to have your pattern and fabric ready to go prior to “Class 1” , so you have the option to purchase a pattern through me with free shipping. I will also have fabric kits available for the wall size Tula Pink rainbow option. You are welcome to purchase your pattern and a fabric kit of your choice from any Certified shop. However, you may want to color your own quilt and use fabric from your stash – so I will be available, and will enjoy helping you do that via zoom at least 4 weeks prior to our first class, so you have plenty of time to get your fabric and pattern prepped and ready to go prior to class starting.
Class #1 – Saturday May 13 from 10am – 4pm (est), Is a meet and greet to review the pattern, prepare the first unit – and start piecing our quilts! If a 6 hour class seems a bit long for you – don’t worry!- the instructional portion of class will all happen before 1pm, so if you need to leave early, you won’t miss a thing!
Class #2 – Sunday June 11 from 10am – 4pm (est) we will work on 2 more units during the day with plenty of time for lunch and breaks scheduled in. (As with all my classes, the instructional portion of class will happen before 1pm)
Class #3 – Sunday July 9th from 10am – 4pm (est)
Class #4 – Sunday Aug 6 from 10am – 4pm (est)
Class #5 – Saturday Sept 9 from 10am – 4pm (est)
Class #6 – Saturday Oct 14 from 10am – 4pm (est)
I’m hoping that by the end of the last class, most of you will be well on your way to having all the paper piecing done, and be ready for the final assembly of your quilt. I am willing to schedule 1 additional free class for anyone who feels they need the extra instruction time, and I will support all my students right through till they finish their entire quilt top. You can always reach out to me with questions, and I will gladly help you work through any sticking points!
