My love for sewing was sparked when I wanted to join 4H, problem was I didn’t know how to sew. No fear my godmother, Margaret was there to help. Truth be told Margaret did the majority of my projects for the first few years. But I really was listening and have never stopped.
During a lecture at the 2011 Houston Festival on colors I saw my first “Judy” quilt. I’m sure the lecture was probably good but I couldn’t take my eyes off the quilts she was using to explain colors. They were all quilts by Judy Niemeyer, but who was she? Upon returning to Tampa I set out to find out where to take a class, but the closest one was in 4 hours away and the class Amazon Star was full.
Fast forward to spring of 2013 and I finally got to take my first class…. Split Log Cabin! I was hooked. Since then I have continued to take classes when ever possible. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire others in their journey of Judy Niemeyer paper piecing.
Looking forward to inspiring your dreams.
