Terre’s first introduction to quilting was watching her paternal grandmother construct quilts all by hand. She pieced and hand quilted the quilts that she made, often using cardboard templates that she made herself. Although Terre has been sewing since she was 10 years old, she did not try making a quilt until her grandmother passed away in the early 1990s. Terre did not want this craft to die in the family along with her grandmother, so she took a class and was hooked immediately. By the year 2000 Terre was both making quilts and teaching beginning quilting to others. She made her first Judy Niemeyer quilt in 2008 and this opened her eyes to the beauty of intricate paper piecing. Now as a Certified Instructor, she looks forward to sharing this passion and the joy of creation with others.
