Maritime Compass

Maritime Compass is a foundation paper pieced pattern designed by Quiltworx.com. The pattern includes all of the foundation papers and instructions required to make this project. If Maritime Compass looks familiar, it is because it is a redesigned version of the original Technique of the Month pattern called Mariner’s Compass. With the update, this design is no longer a Technique of the Month design and can be purchased across the quilting industry whether it is through a Certified Shop/Instructor or not!

The updates to the pattern include changing the size, adding popular color options into the instructions, updating the papers to include smart corners and TRP lines, and eliminating some challenging assembly steps in the original design to make this easier to make!

We also have supporting products, such as digitized quilting designs, embroidery, notions and rulers, and packages to expand this quilt to a larger size. The following information explains ways to expand your quilt.

To expand the 68″ to a 80″, purchase one of the 281D borders listed under the Buy Now button.
To expand the 68″ to a 99″ Queen, purchase one of the 242D borders listed under the Buy Now button.
To expand the 68″ to a 118″ King, purchase one of the 281D borders to get you to 80″, and then purchase a 277H King On-Point border to achieve 118″. All of these options are listed under the Buy Now button.

If you would like to color it in Quiltster, please use the Quiltster Project link below. To find kits, click on the Marketplace.

This pattern is available in Quiltster! This means you can color the quilt with your favorite fabric collections in Quiltster before you make it. Quiltster will even provide you with yardage! You can also purchase kits designed by Quiltster Sellers right in the application!
