Cappuccino - A Party for 4 Instructions
www.quiltworx.com
This is a one-day class designed to teach you the simplicity of foundation paper piecing along with a concept using two strips of fabric to create one very simple and appealing block design. You will need to purchase a copy of the pattern listed above for this class. The pattern includes the yardage, instructions, cutting instructions, and the foundation papers. Please read your pattern prior to class.
Fabric Selection: This quilt was made using one Package of Bali Pops. Choosing fabrics for each unit is easy! Any two strips of fabric are acceptable as long as you work with one of the following values, (light and dark values), (light and medium values), and (medium and dark values). If you have chosen your own fabrics the same rules apply! You will need to cut (36) 2-1/2″ strips from a variety of light, medium, and dark fabrics. The black fabric is used for the accent strips. The accent strips are used to seperate each unit, keeping the blocks from blending together. Refer to your yardage chart on you pattern for the amount of black fabric needed.
Preparing your Foundation Papers: Please read and follow the instructions for preparing your foundation papers on page 2 of your pattern before class. You only need to cut out 1 page of the NP108 foundation papers before class. Judy will demonstrate a faster method of cutting out the rest of your papers during class!
Cutting Instructions: Before beginning your cutting instructions please check our website for pattern corrections. There is very little pre-class cutting for this pattern if you are using Bali Pops (or other precut 2-1/2″ strips). If you are using yardage please have your (36) 2 1/2″ x 42″ strips from a variety of light, medium, and dark fabrics cut before class. Please read through the Cutting Instructions on page 3 of your pattern and follow the instructions for cutting the Black Strips. You do not need to worry about sub-cutting your strips or stacking your fabrics before class as Judy will go over this during class.
