Jackie Kunkel

Pre-cutting the fabrics is a mandatory requirement prior to taking this class. Please begin preparing for class at least 1-week prior to class to make sure that you are able to get familiar with your pattern and complete the pre-cutting before hand. It is important that you have your pre-class cutting completed. If this step is not completed, you will have a difficult time keeping up and participating in instruction. We recommend reading through your entire pattern before beginning.

Fabric Selection: Choose 24 batik fat quarters, 12 bright textured batiks, ranging from light to medium, and 12 dark textured batiks, ranging from medium to dark.

Preparing the Template Sheets and Foundation Papers: Please refer to and follow the instructions under “Preparing your Papers and Templates” on page 2 of you pattern.

Cutting Instructions: Please read through “Cutting Instructions” on Page 2 and 3 of your pattern before beginning the steps below. We recommend checking our website for pattern corrections before you begin cutting your fabric. Note: After the cutting is completed please make sure all the Template sheets, foundation sheets, and fabric pieces are placed in the correct bags before coming to class.

Stacking and Cutting Your Fabric: Complete the instructions under “Stacking and Cutting Out Your Fabric” on Page 2 of your pattern.

Complete steps 1-5 on Page 3 of your pattern under “Stacking and Cutting Out Your Fabric”. Clip pieces together using large paper clips and place in the bags specified. Do not subcut the template sheets, this will be demonstrated in class.
