Fabric requirements for class: The fabric requirements for this quilt will depend on the size of quilt you plan to make. The yardage instructions are on the back page of the pattern. You should probably read the section in your pattern on page one about selecting your fabric. Listed below in the precutting instructions you will find the amount of fabric strips you will need to cut from each of your templates before coming to class. If you are not sure about your fabric selections then cut these pieces out of some of your scraps so you can learn the process for making this quilt during class and then purchase the fabric later.
Templates: You will need to make a plastic template for all the templates shown on the template pages. The best way to do this is to make a photocopy of each page and then paste the whole page onto a sheet of template plastic before cutting them out. These need to be made prior to class and will be used to cut out your fabric pieces from the strips listed below. This pattern has a lot of templates so prior to cutting them out read and follow the instructions on pages 1 and 2 under the Template section. Place the templates into the designated bags listed in the instructions and your worries and concerns will be over.
Foundation Paper: You will need to cut out one page of each of the different sections prior to class. Follow the instructions under Foundation Papers on page 2 in your pattern. Place all the section into the appropriate bags at the time of cutting. Do not cut out any of the other foundation paper before class. I will be demonstrating a quick and easy way to stack & trim the rest of foundation paper in class. If you have taken a class from me before and you already know how to stack and trim the papers then do them all at one time.
