Fabric Requirements for Class: The fabric requirements for this quilt will depend on the size of quilt you plan to make. The yardage instructions are on the back page of the pattern. Listed below in the precutting instructions you will find the amount of fabric pieces you will need to cut from each of your templates before coming to class. If you are not sure about your fabric selections then cut these strips out of some scraps so you can learn the process for making this quilt during class and then purchase the fabric later. If you have purchased your fabric and want to cut out the whole quilt prior to class, follow the cutting instructions in the pattern.
Templates: You will need to make a plastic templates of each of the templates shown in the pattern. Make a photocopy of each template page. Then paste each copy onto a sheet of template plastic. These need to be made prior to class. The templates are used to cut out your fabric pieces from the strips listed below.
Foundation Paper: You will need to cut out the foundation papers from one page of AS-1, and one page of the Briar Patch blocks. These need to be ready to use in class. Trim the excess paper from your foundation paper about 1/8″ away from the outside cutting line. Do not cut out any of the other foundation paper before class. I will be demonstrating a quick and easy way to stack & trim the remaining paper in class. If you have taken a class from me before and know how to stack and trim the paper, then proceed and cut them all out at once and place them into the appropriate bags.
Pre-Class Cutting Instructions for Each Foundation Paper Block:
Arcs: Cut the following strips for each of the following templates and place them into a bag with the papers for the Arc units cut from one (1) AS-1 page and one (1) Briar Patch page. Place these strips into Bag #2.
