Fabric Requirements for Class: The fabric requirements for this quilt are listed on the back page of the pattern. You should probably read the section in your pattern on page 1 about selecting your fabric.

Pre-cutting Instructions: Follow the cutting instructions in your pattern on pages 2 and 3. You might as well cut out all the strips for the whole quilt prior to class. Most of the sections only require two (2) or three (3) strips. Place all the strips for each section into small individuals bags. Then place all the small bags into the appropriate large bags.

If you are not sure about your fabric selections for the pineapple colors then bring the fabrics, and I will help you arrange the colors before you cut, but there is no reason why you cannot cut out the background fabrics before coming to class.

Applique products can be purchased in class. If you have done machine applique prior to class then bring your tools and threads with you.

Rinseaway
Purple Thang
Stapler
Bias Bars
Applique Thread
UHU Fabric glue Stick
Size 60 applique needles
Small sharp scissors

Templates: Make a plastic template for each template shown on the template page. The best way to make the templates is to photocopy each page of templates. Paste the whole page onto a sheet of template plastic. Cut the templates out before class. Whether you photocopy or scan the templates make sure the templates match up to the original sizes printed in the pattern. Place the templates into the designated bags listed in the instructions.

Foundation Paper: Prior to class, cut out one (1) sheet of the foundation papers for both the pineapple and star units. Follow the instructions under foundation papers on page 2 in your pattern. Place all the sections into the appropriate bags at the time of cutting. Do not worry about cutting out all the papers prior to class. You will not need them and I will be demonstrating a quick and easy way to stack & trim the rest of foundation paper in class. If you have taken a class from me before and you already know how to stack and trim the papers then do them all at one time.
